What is it you want to do? Really..?

First of all, a quick reality check… If you do not know the answer to what it is you really want to do with your life, it’s OK. Take a number and join the club, you’re not alone. Alternatively you might be 100% sure and have your plan all mapped out.

I will never forget my coach (yes, I had a ‘coach’ as part of my graduate program) sitting me down one day and saying ‘sometimes you can spend your whole life climbing a ladder that you find was up against the wrong wall.’ I hope this post, our first post, helps you to not become that person. Unless you want to hit 40, buy a convertible Porsche, and attempt to pick up women half your age.

I say this from personal experience. After climbing the ladder for 5 years I resigned to go exploring. I had no idea what I wanted to do next. I only knew I had to leave. My answer came after stumbling across the world of superyachts in the south of France.

I ended up selling everything I had in Australia and flying one-way to pursue a dream. This experience gave me the distance and perspective to really think about what I wanted out of my life.

There truly are so many opportunities pout there that the biggest challenge you may face is choosing which one. A wise man once said to me you ‘either have a plan for your life, or someone else will.’

From my personal experience the best question I was ever challenged with as I sought to find my answer was ‘what gives you joy?’ Think about it…

Whatever you come up with be sure to enjoy the ride. It’s call life. Dream LARGE!
